Guides
These guides are about steering projects as a whole: which work you start, which work you stop, and how you know afterwards whether those were the right calls.
Not product documentation, and not theory for its own sake. They are written for people already in the middle of it — a programme manager who has inherited a list of eighty projects, a controller wondering why the plan fails to hold together every quarter, a director who has to explain why something has been deferred.
What this covers
Project portfolio management is the question of whether an organisation is collectively doing the right things and can actually carry them. That is a different question from whether any individual project is on schedule, and being good at the second does not make an organisation good at the first.
In practice it nearly always reduces to the same discomfort: more work has been promised than there are people to do it, and nobody can point to where that happened. These pieces are about that.

What is project portfolio management?
The foundations, in plain English. What it is and what it is not, how a portfolio differs from a programme and a project, the three ways it reliably goes wrong, and a first step small enough to take this month. Including an honest section on when you do not need any of it.
From strategy to delivery
Why a theme from the strategy rarely shows up in an actual project, walked through the nine steps in between. Where the chain usually breaks, what fixing it actually takes, and an honest section on what still isn't connected even then.
Capacity management for projects
Why "do we have room for this" has two different answers in practice, how demand and supply get recorded, and an honest section on what still isn't flagged automatically.
Progress reporting
Why most status reports are a story rebuilt from scratch at every steering meeting, rather than a report pulled straight from the system. What Migreat! from Promigion does and doesn't track automatically.
Prioritising projects
Why a ranking doesn't solve the problem of too many requests on its own, and what separates a score from a decision you can still defend later.
What does PPM software cost?
How this category is usually priced, and where the gap sits between the price on the website and the number on the invoice.
AI in portfolio management
The difference between AI that suggests something and AI that acts on its own — and why that difference matters more than whether a tool is "AI-powered".
